automatically using the 'Hibernate trigger' freeware program set to run on startup. Paste the above line/script into 'path you want to execute on resume' in the prog. This seemed to fix the problem on windows 10 x64 with the old intel 3945ABG for me. None of this is my work, see references for explanations.References: ://help.downtownworks.com/hc/en-us/articles/360024693851-My-internet-or-WiFi-gets-disconnected-after-Sleep-in-Windows-10-8
Using the Windows 10 supplied driver for the Intel Pro 3945ABG wireless card on my Dell laptop, often results in an inability to connect after a start or restart. When this happens, I disable the network card via Device Manager and then re-enable the network card. After that, the device connects and functions correctly.
I've got an ASUS laptop F3Jseries with an Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG network adaptor. I've just installed Windows 7 on the laptop but it isn't able to connect wirelessly to my home router. When I was installing Windows 7 and it requested wireless information it could even pick up whether the passcode for the wireless was correct (if I entered in the wrong one it came up telling me so, if I entered in the right one it moved onto a different error) - it just couldn't connect. Now that Windows 7 is installed, it picks up the networks in my area and can see them and tell me their signal strength but cannot connect to them. It comes up saying "Windows was unable to connect to wireless" (my network name being "wireless"). When I click "Troubleshoot problems" it says:"wireless" did not allow a connection from this computer.Contact your network administrator if you do not have access to the router. If you are on a home network, reset your wireless router or access point:1. Unplug or turn off your router.2. Wait at least 10 seconds.3. Turn it back on or plug it back into the power outlet.Further details say - "Wireless connection failed because the network denied the association request from this computer".I've reset my router but this made no difference. I've also turned my wireless off and on on my laptop to see if that would make a difference but it still does not work.I then thought it could be a driver issue (and various forum posts I've seen on the net seemed to suggest similar), so I've downloaded and installed the latest drivers (v. 12.4.3.0) - _Desc.aspx?agr=Y&DwnldID=17753&lang=eng. It updated the driver successfully but the same issue still persists!I've ran Windows updates and gotten every available update there as well.I can access the internet fine by connecting to the network via an ethernet cable but no matter what I try the wireless still does not seem to work? It worked fine on Vista before I installed Windows 7.What other ways could there be for me to fix this wireless connection problem? Is it a driver issue? A Windows 7 issue? Any help is greatly appreciated as I'm really not sure what else to do!
I have attempted to install the windows 7, wireless 3945ABG driver. I got a message saying I need to install .NET Framework 3.5 .... I downloaded this and saved to thumbdrive, then attempted to install. Got an error saying it was not successfully installed ... Not sure how to proceed. At any rate, I still have no network connectivity.
The problem is that wireless performance is less than satisfactory. I can connect to any wireless network without difficulty but the transfer speed is way worse than it should be. A quick test on speedtest.net shows that I get about half the speed I used to get with the same laptop in windows environment (FYI the laptop had windows7 until last week and used to connect to the very same wireless network). Furthermore (like if that wasn't enough..), when copying files across the local network the speed is also far from pleasing... much slower it used to be. As a result, streaming a media file stored on another computer or device on the network is impossible. As this is what I'm primarily using this laptop for, it's a real pain that I can't get it working correctly.
With the older driver, Signal Quality is always indicated by either two or three green bars, and the connection Speed is always shown as 54.0 Mbps. These indicators do not change, regardless of the actual signal quality and speed of the connection -- even if the connection is lost because the computer has been moved too far from the wireless router or access point.
2. On the Windows Desktop, double-click the downloaded file driver_wifi_intel_v11.1.0.86_os2007146a.exe to start the installation.3. Click Setup. The installation will take a few a minutes, display a completion message, and then close.4. Restart the computer. 1e1e36bf2d
