This is a very simple Spark program and is run from within the Java environment. It uses Java, an HTTP library and a CSV reader. In this case we are using the CSV reader to read a file from the file system.
Eclipse has two different contexts. The first is the default and second is the PHP context. Within the Eclipse PHP context, we need to go to the Spark page. You can do this easily by editing the preferences for the PHP context. To open the PHP page, go to the menu and select Window and then Preferences.
Notice that the Spark page uses the Java page as the workspace type. Eclipse works well here. You can click on the bottom of the screen and select File and then New. This will open a new file and Java page and with a new file. You can type or cut and paste this Java code into the Java page.
If you already have Spark installed, click the Spark 1.2.0 option on the Downloads page, and then click the Download button. You will be prompted to download Spark. If you have Spark already installed, click the Download button to download the latest version of Spark.
To create a single node Hadoop cluster, you need to make sure that you have executed Hadoop’s hadoop-daemon.sh script. If you have not run the script before, you can do so at this time or you can run it when Spark is up and running.
Open your browser and navigate to the Spark download page at https://spark.apache.org/downloads.html . If you are accessing this page for the first time, you’ll be prompted to install Spark. Click the Spark 1.2.0 option and choose the Linux 64-bit x86_64 option.
